It all started with a group of friends just messing around and playing music together in the late 90's. From there Elixir 100% Pure was first formed with Bobby (Vocals/Guitar), Spuds (Guitar), Nick (Bass), and Ray (Drums). The group quickly grew popular in the Central Texas region, and soon put out the 1st album (Home Brew). After the sucess of the first album Nick decided to step aside, and the rest of the group had to find a new bass player (quite a task considering the level at which Nick could play). Mutual friends of the band, Mike soon joined the band. With Elixir back on the road and playing again the momentum seemed to never stop. Soon after a second album (Life In General) hit the stores, and you could tell this time they meant business! Life In General with hits such as Fallen would soon grab the attention of a different breed of Elixir fans due to the higher level of energy in the songs. A few years later Elixir had a long and much needed break, and again they made a return to a loving group of fans.Working on material for a third album proved to be difficult with the no longer group of bachelors, but with the material written it is soon going to be time for Elixir's 3rd album. Some additional changes have taken place with a talented Mike Walko now having to step aside. Bobby's brother, and bass player Zach laid down the bass tracks/backup vocals on the 3rd album (Thru The Light). Life can certainly throw curveballs, but the important thing is that we remain true to ourselves and continue to look and live forward. So get ready!!!!!! Elixir is alive, and dammit we are more energetic than ever!
